Why does this wizard only render page 1 of Form 101?

Page 1 is the captioning page — debtor name, district, case number — that appears at the top of every other Ch7 filing (Schedules I/J, Form 122A-1, Form 108, Form 103A/B). The remaining 7 pages of Form 101 are eligibility statements, disclosure attestations, and signature blocks that map cleanly to the official PDF at uscourts.gov/forms/individual-debtors. The high-leverage piece is page 1; this wizard ships that.

What if I moved recently — can I still file in my new district?

Maybe. 28 U.S.C. § 1408(1) requires that you have resided / had your domicile / your principal place of business / your principal assets in the district for the LONGEST PORTION of the 180 days before filing. If you moved 60 days ago from State A to State B, you would still file in State A for now (more than 90 of the 180 days were in A). Wait until 91 days have passed in the new district, or file in the old one.

What is the credit-counseling requirement?

Under 11 U.S.C. § 109(h), you must complete a pre-petition credit-counseling course from a court-approved provider within the 180 days before filing. The petition page acknowledges this — and you must attach the certificate of completion. After filing, you also must complete a separate post-petition Personal Financial Management course (§ 727(a)(11)) before the court will grant discharge.

I had a prior Ch 7 discharge 6 years ago. Can I file again?

No — § 727(a)(8) bars a Ch 7 discharge if you got one in the last 8 years. You can still file the petition (it stops collection actions immediately under the automatic stay), but you will not get a discharge. Most pro-se filers in this situation switch to Ch 13 where the lookback is 4 years from a prior Ch 7 (§ 1328(f)(1)).

What is the filing fee path?

Three options. (1) Pay $338 in full at filing (cash / money order / cashier's check). (2) Apply to pay in up to 4 installments under FRBP 1006(b)(2) using Form 103A — see /bankruptcy/filing-fee-installments. (3) Apply to have the fee waived under 28 U.S.C. § 1930(f)(1) using Form 103B — see /bankruptcy/filing-fee-waiver. The waiver is only for Ch 7 filers below 150% of the federal poverty line.
